On the earth

It was a summer with strong thunder and rain.
One day, a lightning has struck the wing of a angel.
The angel has lost his wings, and wandered on the earth.
A man in a small village welcomed him to his hut.
The angel left his wings on the earth.

The angel became a man.

At the end of the summer, the hut was filled with full bloomed flowers.

We make our own picnic carpet using paper-cut technique, then have a picnic together. The carpet’s patterns are their own images about paradise or their hopes for their life. Sharing the meals brings us multidimensional relationships with their neighbors, the visitors, and the art.

An interactive artwork, using paper-cutt technique. People draw their own images about the paradise on a flower petal, and I cutt out the images. After the petals are joined, people can see a big lotus flower, in that their images are harmonized with others.

For Sigrid

The marble coffin decorated with flower petals
which was placed in a mausoleum was too big for
the 11-year-old girl, Sigrid.
Perhaps she has grown in the coffin.
Lying in the coffin now is Sigrid
who has grown into a beautiful woman.
Someday for the day that she comes out of the coffin,
someday for the day that she journeys with her loved ones,
I want to dedicate this dress to Sigrid.

HEAVEN’S RAIN

The rain showered from the heaven
penetrated me and seeped into the earth.

Then the earth became the sea
and I was drowned by the rain.
When I sank down to the bottom of the sea
marine snow brilliantly showered on me.

I had a rite of passage "Transparency of identity",
since I became a foreigner.

Identity itself maybe the same with

as a foreigner.

It is misty, transparent and floating,
like wave's drops on the beach.

It is so sweet, ravishing, exotic,

and always attracts me.
But when I try to touch it,
it always vanishes away from my sight.

“ What is your most important thing in the world? ”I asked womens who are diferent ages and occupations in Japan and Indoensia. They thought about this sudden question for a while and answered. As well as interesting in their answers, I interested also in their face expressions.
There might be something, something I seek for...

Programme at Raumars Artist in Residence

Using a paper-cut technique, we make own clothes. The concept is, that the well-known Rauman Lace is carried to the paradise, and they are used to decorate the angel’s clothes. I launched a new fasion label "Fry Over". Angel's clothes are made in the atelier "Fry Over". In this project, paper-cut silhouettes are a metaphor for the Rauma lace.
